General trends seen in students based on percentile or gate score obtained.
- To secure admission in IISc Bangalore, the rank shall be within top 40.
- If a student gets within 300 ranks, there is a definite chance of getting admission in IITs.
- If it is between 300 and 700 ranks, students can get admission in IITs. But the students have to try for those IITs where there is written test/interview for selection. The students are also advised to apply for MS program in IITs and for NITs keeping Structures as the first choice.
- If it is between 700 and 1200 ranks, the students can try in IITs like Roorkee, Guwhati, and Hyderabad etc. It is advisable to opt specializations like Water resources, Earthquake engineering, Architecture, Computer aided design, etc., as the first choice.
- If the rank is more than 1200, they are advised to apply for NITs, university colleges and private colleges depending upon the merit level.
