How to become a pilot in India

 






There are 4 types of pilot licenses or pilots in India.
  1. Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
  2. Private Pilot License (PPL)
  3. Student Pilots License (SPL)
  4. Air Force Pilot
To become pilot in air force route is entirely different than other 3.
For Air force pilot you need to pass NDA exam and take training in NDA. For 1st three type of pilots, basic qualification is following.
  1. Educational Qualification: 10+2 with Physics and Maths from recognized school. Some institutes allow non Science students as long as student applies to a specified course.
  2. Age: Minimum 17 years ( for most institues)
  3. Medical: You should be medically fit as per the standards laid down by DGCA

  • Karnal Aviation Club, Kunjpura Road, Karnal, Haryana
  • Government Flying Club, Aerodrome, Lucknow
  • School of Aviation Science and Technology, Delhi Flying Club Ltd, New Delhi
  • State Civil Aviation, UP Govt Flying Training Center Kanpur and Varanasi
  • Rajasthan State Flying School, Sanganer Airport, Jaipur
  • Govt Flying Training School Jakkur Aerodrome, Bangalore
  • Andra Pradesh Flying Club Hydrabad Airport, Hydrabad
  • Assam Flying Club, Guwahati Airport, Guwahati
  • Bihar Flying Institute, Civil Aerodrome, Patna, Bihar
Most of the above colleges have good placement scope. These institutes also help in securing loan from bank for the training fees. Fees for pilot training is generally high and estimated between 15-20 Lakh Rs. Course duration also depends on what kind of course you have applied for. It takes maximum time for CPL, which is around 2 years.
Bsc in Aviation is not same as pilot training. Bsc in Aviaiton is aimed to convert pilot training into a university degree. Bsc in aviation imparts knowledge relation to aviation industry and help people grow faster in their career in this industry.
